CALVARY PANDAN CHURCH CHOIR

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord". Col 3:16

The 4-part choir of about 30 choristers was formed in 1987. The church choir, by the grace of God, plays the role in “teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs” and with the purpose of “the edifying of the body of Christ” (Eph 4:12).

We meet regularly on the Sunday afternoons from 1 pm to 3.30 pm in the Church Conference Room on Level 3. The choir practices are led by a conductor accompanied by a pianist.

The objectives of the choir are as follows:

  • To worship the LORD in hymns, spiritual songs and psalms and to aid the congregation to worship the LORD in spirit and in truth through its singing.
  • To afford an opportunity for Christian fellowship, for practical training in Christian service, and for healthy activities, both spiritual and physical, among members and friends in Calvary Pandan B-P Church.
  • To exhort members to live consecrated lives in close communion with God and in daily study of His Word.
  • To encourage members to witness for the Lord both in word, songs, hymns, deed and conduct, as individuals and as a group.
  • To support the Church in its policies and activities.
  • To exalt the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ in its activities and publications.

We organise various activities to meet the objectives we set.

The choir helps to facilitate worship through our song presentation on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Church Anniversary, Reformation Sunday, Christmas Praise Service and Year End Service.
